HISTORY

Spancrete started in the Mpumalanga Province in 2004 with a small manufacturing plant, and diligently servicing an area of +- 150km2 . Having rapidly outgrown our Lydenburg Plant, we moved to Rocky Drift (Near Nelspruit), and diversified into Civil Construction contracts. Construction on the Swaziland Football Stadium was Spancrete’s swansong in the Civil Construction industry.  The Mbombela Soccer Stadium (For 2010 FIFA World Cup) was the largest project afforded to Spancrete thus far. This was a Joint Venture Project with Basil Read Civil Construction Company.

With the construction industry “boom” in late 2009, Spancrete relocated its Production plant to its current location East of Pretoria. The plant’s manufacturing and delivery capacity was increased by acquiring new block making machines, and new delivery vehicles. Spancrete continued to service the Mpumalanga Province, as well as gaining market share in Gauteng, North West, Limpopo, and the Vaal Triangle areas.

In 2010 Spancrete was acquired by the Motrade Group, the company has since grown from strength to strength.  This combination ensures industry knowledge, experience and technical expertise.  Spancrete aims to become the leading concrete slab supplier in South Africa.

We are Proudly Gauteng’s Only lab Company using a 5mm Pre stressed Wire in our Ribs. This is the Thickest pre-stressed Wire you can use. We are also the only Company in Gauteng providing a Solid Concrete Block; we do not use Ash products in our Slabs”.
